Terms of Service
This is the agreement between you and Kiln. It is written to be readable — plain wording, no hidden clauses — and it says what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.
Last updated: September 7, 2026
1. Who we are
Kiln is operated by Maxim Kuznetsov, an individual entrepreneur registered in Georgia, trading as Disarto (“Kiln”, “we”, “us”). The service is provided through getkiln.app. You can reach us at any time at hi@getkiln.app.
2. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using Kiln you agree to these Terms, to our Privacy Policy and to our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which form part of this agreement. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you use Kiln on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.
3. What the service is
Kiln is a browser-based tool for designing animated 2D and 3D visuals and exporting them for use on the web. It includes an editor, a cloud workspace that stores your projects and uploaded assets, and export formats that produce self-contained files you host yourself.
The service is under active development. Features may be added, changed or removed, and we may run parts of it as a beta. We will not remove a materially important feature without making a reasonable effort to notify account holders in advance.
4. Your account
- You are responsible for your login credentials and for activity that happens under your account.
- Provide accurate account information and keep your email address current — it is how we reach you about billing, security and service changes.
- Do not share an account between people. Accounts are personal.
- Tell us promptly at hi@getkiln.app if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
5. Plans, billing and renewal
Kiln offers a Free plan and a paid Pro subscription at $10 per month, in US dollars, with applicable taxes included. Current plan limits are published on the Pricing page and form part of this agreement.
- Automatic renewal. A Pro subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel it. You authorise the recurring charge when you subscribe.
- Payment provider. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, who act as the merchant of record and reseller for the transaction. Their charge appears on your statement, and their buyer terms apply to the payment itself. We never receive or store your card details.
- Failed payments. If a renewal fails we may retry it and will flag your account. If payment is not completed, the subscription ends and the account returns to the Free plan.
- Price changes. We may change prices or plan limits. Existing subscribers will be notified by email at least 30 days before a change takes effect for them, and may cancel before it does.
- Cancellation and refunds are covered by the Refund & Cancellation Policy: a full refund within 14 days of your first Pro payment, and cancellation any time, ending either immediately or at the end of the paid period, whichever you choose.
6. Your content stays yours
You keep all rights to the projects, designs, images, video, models and other material you create or upload (“your content”). We claim no ownership of it, and we do not use it to train models or for advertising.
You grant us only the narrow permission we need to run the service for you: to store, process, transmit, back up and display your content so that you can edit, preview, export and share it, and so that we can provide support you ask for. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
You are responsible for having the rights to everything you upload — fonts, photography, video, models and third-party assets included — and for making sure your use of the service complies with the licences attached to them.
7. Exports
Exported scenes are yours to use commercially with no additional licence, attribution or fee, including after your subscription ends. Exports are self-contained: they do not phone home, do not require a Kiln account, and continue working independently of this service.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use Kiln to:
- break the law, infringe someone else's intellectual property, or violate someone's privacy;
- upload or distribute malware, or content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, or sexual content involving minors;
- attempt to breach, probe or overload our systems or those of our providers, or to circumvent plan limits, quotas or feature gates;
- resell, sublicense or white-label access to the service itself (exports are a different matter — see above);
- use automated means to scrape or bulk-download the service beyond ordinary use.
9. Storage limits and long-term retention
Each plan includes an asset-storage allowance. When you reach it, existing work keeps loading, rendering and exporting — only new uploads are blocked until you free space or upgrade. We do not delete your work because you hit a limit.
10. Availability, backups and beta features
We aim for the service to be available and reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. Maintenance, provider outages and incidents happen. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but you remain responsible for keeping your own copies of work that matters to you — the “Save to file” export produces a complete, portable copy of a project.
11. Suspension, termination and deletion
- You can leave at any time. Deleting your account from Settings permanently removes your projects and assets and, if you have an active subscription, cancels it immediately so no further charges are made. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone; export anything you want to keep first.
- We may suspend or terminate an account that materially breaches these Terms, or where required by law. Except in serious cases (illegal content, security threats, or risk to other users), we will contact you first and give you a reasonable chance to put it right.
- If we terminate an account without cause, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid period.
12. Our intellectual property
The Kiln software, interface, documentation, brand and name remain ours. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service, not a licence to copy, resell or reverse-engineer it. Feedback you send us may be used freely to improve the product, with no obligation to you.
13. Third-party services
We run Kiln on third-party infrastructure and services, including Supabase (accounts and database), Cloudflare R2 (asset storage), Vercel (hosting) and Dodo Payments (payments). Their handling of data is described in our Privacy Policy. Links from the service to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
14. Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, that exports will behave identically in every browser or device, or that it will meet a specific requirement of yours.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, or lost or corrupted data. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or US $50.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
16. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your content or from your use of the service in breach of these Terms, including reasonable legal costs.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version. For material changes we will notify account holders by email or in the app before they take effect; continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the updated Terms.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Georgia (the country, not the U.S. state), and the courts of Georgia have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, the UK or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, you keep the benefit of the mandatory rules and courts of your country of residence.
Before starting formal proceedings, please email us — nearly everything is faster to fix directly.
19. General
- If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- Not enforcing a right immediately does not waive it.
- You may not transfer this agreement without our consent; we may transfer it as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business, on notice to you.
- These Terms, together with the Privacy and Refund policies, are the entire agreement between us about the service.
